Crescent City Harbor District is at 101 Citizens Dock Road, on the Crescent City waterfront. The California Department of Parks and Recreation identifies it as a public marina and launch facility under the Harbor District’s jurisdiction.

The harbor district dates to June 10, 1931, when California’s governor signed legislation permitting a harbor district to form in Del Norte County. A petition signed by 63 registered voters began the formation process.

For another coastal landmark, Battery Point Lighthouse is a separate stop; the Crescent City Lighthouse guide covers visiting it.

B Street Pier is a waterfront viewing pier over Crescent City bay, with views of the bay and sea lions. The City of Crescent City gives its address as 301 B Street South.

The harbor district is also home to restaurants, marine-supply businesses, rentals, sport-fishing charters and whale-watching tours. For a change of scenery along the shore, the Crescent City Beach guide can help you choose a stretch of coast.

Keep clear of the Crescent City Harbor jetty. The U.S. Army Corps of Engineers warns that unexpected waves can sweep across it and cause severe injury or death.

Public Access and Harbor Services

Public Access and Harbor Services

The harbor’s beach area is open to the public free of charge, subject to safety and security exceptions within the harbor. Day-use facilities, parking, public restrooms and fish-cleaning stations are also free. Walking and bicycling are permitted throughout the harbor, although restrictions apply where needed to avoid conflicts with commercial work such as seafood unloading and boat repair.

The facility has 250 slip or tie-up spaces, two boarding floats and eight carry-down walkways. Listed services include public restrooms, picnic areas, a fish-cleaning station, fuel and fishing-tackle sales, ice vending, showers, a restaurant, a snack bar and transient berths or tie-ups. Services and access conditions can change, so check the official site before you go.

Boaters can find fuel on the north side of Citizens Dock, at the white fuel shack approximately midway along the pier. Guest-vessel moorage is available on both sides of H-Dock, but rafting up is prohibited because the dock is close to the channel.
